The Providential Heritage Academy is a new Living History Farm and Museum of our distinct American West heritage and culture; not a conventional Academy, but a Retreat into our providential past, a new dimension in learning, immersion and time-travel.  The Academy is a nonprofit, educational and charitable organization which encourages visitors and students to witness and participate in the re-creation of our providential heritage through the medium of “participatory” living history.  Historical tents and shelters, wagon trains, re-enactments, camps, musical and social events help to create the ambiance, but the magic lies in learning through participation.

Oak Glen  & Cherry Valley Farms/Orchard  & Shop Listings
The mile-high climate of Oak Glen provides a beautiful change of seasons, unsurpassed in Southern California.  It's always 10 to 15 degrees cooler up in Oak Glen than it is in the valleys.  Apple orchards cover the slopes laden with blossoms in the Spring and apples in the Fall. The scenery is more like New England, and only 90 minutes from Los Angeles on the way to Palm Springs. Oak Glen offers wholesome family fun in every season. Visit orchards, taste fresh apples and cider, enjoy hot apple pie at one of the several family restaurants, feed the animals in the animal parks, or browse through some of the many specialty shops in the Glen. Some farms and ranches offer U-Pick apples, U-Press cider & country music and dancing. Visit the one-room schoolhouse, take a hayride, or go on a nature walk.

Oak Glen is located 15 miles east of San Bernardino. Above all, they come to enjoy the fall harvest of some forty million apples (40,000 bushels) of numerious varieties, all sold directly to the public in one of the largest operations of its kind in the country. The apple growers also press several hundred thousand gallons of fresh cider and sell their own blends. In all the friendly apple sheds, you can taste the different apples and ciders before you buy. In an 8-mile loop, you can visit several apple ranches and orchards.

Various other shops, a Wildlands Conservency picnic area and hiking trails, and many special activities make Oak Glen appealing to virtually everyone. A large number of families make a visit to Oak Glen an annual event, with several generations participating
